Level Design Projects
Spring 2024 - Fall 2024

All of these projects are solo projects (except cat bounty hunter), meaning only I worked on them. I used various different game engines.

The Heist

I had complete free reign to work on a level, as long as it was stealth-based. This was made in Unreal Engine

2D Platformer The Way Out

I had so much fun working on a 2D platformer in unreal! With given assets and base unreal project, had to debug and fix issues, while also working with what we have and make something with what we were given!

2D Metroidvania

This is still a work in progress, but already I have made so many improvements with my map-building skills.

Duck Gallery

Duck Gallery is a small shooting game I made in Unity with C# for a scripting class! The player left clicks to shoot the animals, and right clicks to enable slow motion! It has two levels for now, one at a barn, the other on a corn field.

Treasure Vault

I was given an existing map I had to create a level. With the map I created I had to rapid prototype it in Unreal Engine.

Light Sword

Made in Unreal Engine 5. For this one I had to make everything myself, the map and the level!

Cat Bounty Hunter!

What is it?

Play as a cat who has set out to make it big in the human world using your knowledge as a cat to run the best cat cafe in town!

Find your cat friends to join you in your endeavors!

Cat Bounty Hunter is A hybrid of a management game with a platformer in which the game is divided into two main cycles. The daytime cycle and the nighttime cycle.

The Daytime Cycle consists of a management sim, where we take care and manage a “cat cafe”. Shop Upgrades and character upgrades are available.

The Nighttime Cycle consists of platformer levels. Upon completing the level, we "recruit" the cat bounty to join the cafe. Each cat enables certain shop upgrades.

I was in charge of making and implementing all of the UI and designing/decorating the first level. One of my biggest challenges was actually the level select menu. It took me a little bit to figure out how to lock levels and unlock them based on the progress made, but also to “save” that progress. It felt so satisfying when I fixed my issues.

This game was definitely a learning lesson as our team had so many great ideas but we had to cut our ideas by a lot with time constraints. Making and decorating the forest level was probably my favorite part! I was so proud of myself when I decorated and made the forest on the first level. One thing that I was trying to prevent was seeing the “void”. It calls back to a previous game I made The Hungry Fox as we can see the void and I didn’t find it aesthetically pleasing. I made sure that no matter where one looked, the game didn’t feel out of place.

2D Platformer

Made in Construct 3, using assets/audio online.

Adventure

Made in Unity, had to build a game based on a movie clip. I loved expanding on the movie scene by creating the environment. I used scripts that were provided by our professor and implemented them.

First Person Shooter

Made in Unreal Engine 5. Built the scene, created the blueprints for the enemies. Made basic sequence animation for the objects.
